Incumbent, former senators lead SWS poll

MANILA, Philippines - Incumbent and former senators dominated the latest senatorial survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

Sen. Vicente "Tito" Sotto III remains the top contender among the senatorial candidates with 56 percent followed by former Sen. Panfilo "Ping" Lacson with 49 percent.

Re-electionist Sens. Ralph Recto (46 percent), Franklin Drilon (43 percent), Sergio "Serge" Osmena III (42 percent) and Teofisto "TG" Guingona III (28 percent) are among the senatorial bets who made the top 12.

Former Sens. Kiko Pangilinan (46 percent), Juan Miguel "Migz" Zubiri (39 percent) and Richard "Dick" Gordon (31 percent) are also among the senatorial candidates most likely to win the elections.

Boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao ranked eighth with 37 percent, followed by Justice Secretary Leila De Lima with 33 percent.

Meanwhile, PhilHealth Director Risa Hontiveros claimed the 12th spot with 28 percent.

Vice President Jejomar Binay topped the presidential survey with 31 percent while Sen. Grace Poe dropped to second place with 24 percent.

Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero remains the top contender in the vice presidential race with 28 percent.
