WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will travel to Turkey, the Philippines and Malaysia over a nine-day stretch next month to meet with world leaders at three summits.

The White House says Obama will attend the G-20 Leaders Summit in Turkey, where he will work to spur international efforts for strong and balanced economic growth. Countries in the G-20 represent about two-thirds of the world's population.

The White House says Obama's visits to additional summits in the Philippines and Malaysia underscore America's support for Asia's regional institutions. Obama has undertaken an effort to rebalance the U.S. role in Asia. Obama will also use the trips to tout trade opportunities and emphasize the need to reach a pact to combat global warming.

The trip takes place from Nov. 14 to 22.
