Duterte camp: Sara did not file COC for Davao mayor
MANILA, Philippines — The camp of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo on Friday clarified that his daughter, Inday Sara Duterte, did not file a certificate of candidacy (COC) for mayor.
Duterte aide Bong Go said in an interview with radio dzMM that the incumbent Davao City mayor will seek reelection and will not run for president.
The younger Duterte earlier posted a photo of her COC for mayor on social media, urging her father to seek the presidency in 2016.
In a separate interview with radio dzMM, the elder Duterte denied reports that was in Manila on Friday purportedly to file his certificate of candidacy for president before the Commission on Elections main office, saying he has stayed in Davao City.
Duterte, in a statement, also reiterated that he is not interested to enter the presidential race next year.

"If Inday Sara would want it, she has the choice of running in 2016 or the next election. Personally, the earlier the better," Duterte said in a statement.
He stressed that the presidency should be given to "to the one who wants it," but it would not be him.
