MANILA, Philippines - Actress and Parañaque Councilor Alma Moreno and Sulu Princess Jacel Kiram were the first senatorial aspirants from the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) to file their certificates of candidacy on Wednesday.

Moreno, chair of the Philippine Councilors' League, was accompanied by her children upon filing her candidacy for the senatorial race.

Vice President Jejomar Binay has earlier announced that Moreno and Kiram are included in UNA's senatorial slate.

UNA has not yet announced its complete senatorial lineup for the 2016 national elections.

The vice president earlier said that the opposition party is considering 16 to 20 prospective senatorial bets.

Binay and his running mate, Sen. Gregorio "Gringo" Honasan, were among the first to file their certificates of candidacy to enter the presidential and vice presidential race last Monday.
