MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Grace Poe, Vice President Jejomar Binay and former Interior Secretary Manuel "Mar" Roxas are "statistically tied" in the second presidential preference survey released by the Social Weather Stations, a political analyst said on Tuesday.

Poe topped the second survey with 26 percent, followed by Binay and Roxas with 24 percent and 20 percent, respectively.

University of Santo Tomas political science professor Edmund Tayao said in an interview that the latest survey results indicate a neck-and-neck battle among the top three presidential bets.

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo ranked fourth with 11 percent while Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. scored 4 percent, followed by Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero with 4 percent, Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada with 3 percent, Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago with 2 percent and former Sen. Manny Villar with 1 percent.

Former Sen. Panfilo Lacson, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano and Sen. Loren Legarda all scored 0.8 percent in the same survey.

Poe also topped the vice presidential survey with 27 percent, followed by Escudero with a rating of 20 percent.

The survey was conducted from September 2 to 5 among 1,200 respondents nationwide, 96 percent of whom are registered voters.

The respondents were given a list of 12 names to choose from in the presidential survey and 13 names in the vice presidential poll.

The SWS earlier released a pre-elections survey last Sunday, where Poe also topped the presidential and vice presidential preference polls.
