MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police' s (PNP) Board of Inquiry (BOI) on Friday deferred anew the submission of its report on the Mamasapano incident last January 25 which cost the lives of 44 Special Action Force (SAF) commandos and a number of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) fighters and civilians.
BOI head Police Director Benjamin Magalong said the board has decided to extend the deadline of the submission.
The BOI report on the Mamasapano incident was supposed to be submit it to the PNP leadership last February 26 but Magalong asked for another week to review the document.
However, Magalong in a text message said the BOI will submit the report on Monday
Earlier, Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas said PNP officials assured him Roxas that the report will meet its deadline.
He, however, pointed out that if more time is needed to check the document for typographical errors and other similar errors, it will be released on Monday at the latest.
