Taguig: No gov't funds used in TV ads
MANILA, Philippines - Taguig City dispelled claims that government funds were used in the television advertisements of Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano.
United Nationalist Alliance interim president and Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco earlier dared Cayetano to reveal his source of funds for the primetime television ads.

"Rep. Tiangco continues to peddle lies against the detractors of his boss, Vice President Binay," Taguig City Councilor and spokesperson Darwin Icay said in a statement released on Tuesday.
Icay said that Tiangco's claims and accusations against Cayetano is the same with the "lies" they made against former Makati Vice Mayor Ernesto Mercado that Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas visited him while confined at the UERM Medical Center.
"At dahil sa ganitong mga akusasyon at mga gawa-gawang kwento, baka oras na upang magpa-drug test si Rep. Tiangco dahil malamang ay nagha-hallucinate na sya sa sobrang pag-atake sa mga kalaban at pagtatanggol sa boss niyang si VP Binay," Icay said.
The Taguig City councilor further defended Cayetano by reiterating that the senator directly answers issues against him while Binay refuses to face head on the accusations against him.
"Sen. Cayetano has always been at the receiving end of attacks and outrageous claims from those whom he has exposed, but he has never, and never will, waiver from his crusade against the corrupt," Icay explained.
Tiangco claimed that Cayetano's 15-seconder and 30-seconder television spots cost P500 million and that he was "falsely advertising" Taguig City.
