MANILA, Philippines — "Sobra na, sobra na."

Vice President Jejomar Binay on Thursday condemned the release of an Instagram post of her youngest daughter at the Senate Blue Ribbon subcommittee hearing last week.

Binay, who skipped Thursday's hearing and instead flew to Cebu City, refused to face local press but allowed to be interviewed from the studio of dyHP Cebu.

Asked his opinion on detractors who used Joanna Marie Bianca Binay's social media post as evidence to back claims against the family, Binay said that a mere photo would not prove anything.

"D'yan ako galit. Bunso ko 'yan. Ba't sinasabi nila na ebidensya eh picture lang naman 'yun?" Binay said.

The Instagram post showed people enjoying in a swimming pool and captioned, "Our place in Batangas." Binay is accused of owning an expansive property in Rosario town estimated to be worth over a hundred million.

Denying allegations of ill-gotten wealth, Vice President explained why he refused to accept the invitation of the Senate panel to appear before the public hearing and answer corruption accusations.

He said that subcommittee members, senators Alan Peter Cayetano, Antonio "Sonny" Trillanes IV and Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III, do not treat their resource persons fairly.

"Abogado naman si [Cayetano], kung magsalita ay lihis sa batas," he said, adding that the senators insult participants in the investigation. - Camille Diola, based on reports from The Freeman
