MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno Aquino III on Monday listed the government's targets for the modernization program of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
In his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA), Aquino said that among the targets for the AFP modernization is the planned acquisition of eight Bell combat utility helicopters and two anti-submarine helicopters.
The government also wants to acquire two light-rift and 3 medium-lift aircraft and a radar system.
Aquino assured that the modernization of the military will continue. - Louis Bacani
