MANILA, Philippines - Public satisfaction with Vice President Jejomar Binay dropped in the second quarter of this year while other top officials registered “marginal” improvements in their ratings, the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed.

Binay’s rating fell from “excellent” +73 (82 percent satisfied, nine percent dissatisfied) in March to “very good” +67 (78 percent satisfied, 11 percent dissatisfied) in June.

The SWS poll was conducted from June 27 to 30, using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adult Filipinos nationwide.

Results of the survey were printed in the newspaper BusinessWorld yesterday.

The satisfaction rating of Senate President Franklin Drilon, Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr., and Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, meanwhile, slightly went up in June, according to the survey.

Drilon’s net score improved by three points but remained in “moderate” category at +20 (50 percent satisfied, 30 percent dissatisfied).

Satisfaction with the work of Belmonte rose by three points to +2 (34 percent satisfied, 32 percent dissatisfied). – With Jose Rodel Clapano
