MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - Tropical storm "Rammasun" (local name Glenda) is expected to make landfall in Albay tomorrow morning, the state weather bureau said today.
With a maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of 120 kph on Monday morning, Rammasun's sustained winds intensified to 110 kph and gustiness to 140 kph in the afternoon, said Jori Loiz, senior weather forecaster of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
As of Monday afternoon, storm warning Signal No. 3 was hoisted over Catanduanes. Catanduanes may experience winds of 101-185 kph in at least 18 hours.
Signal No. 2 was raised over areas such as Camarines Norte, Burias Island, Ticao Island, Marinduque, southern Quezon. These areas will experience winds of 61-100 kph in at least 24 hours.
Loiz said the storm is to approach the capital region of Metro Manila on Wednesday afternoon.
