De Lima unaware of 2 new witnesses in pork scam case

MANILA, Philippines - Justice Secretary Leila De Lima on Friday said she knows nothing about the two pork barrel scam witnesses presented by laywer Levito Baligod to the Ombusdman.

Baligod, who represents the whistleblowers in the P10-billion scam, said he presented the new witnesses to Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales instead of bringing them to the Department of Justice.

De Lima said she was contacting Baligod since Thursday but he was unreachable. She said she does not know why the witnesses were not presented to her.

She said she is being questioned by the media about developments in the case bit she will be more careful in giving her comments.
