Poe, Robredo lead PeopleAsia’s ‘Women of Style and Substance’

MANILA, Philippines - • Leadership and style reign supreme as PeopleAsia trains the spotlight on its “Women of Style and Substance 2013” at the Luzon Ballroom of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila tonight. Among this year’s exemplary awardees are senatorial topnotcher Grace Poe and Camarines Sur Third District Rep. Leni Robredo.Poe, who won the elections with the highest number of votes garnered by a senator in the Philippines, proves that she is indeed ready to carry the torch of her late father, Fernando Poe Jr., and be her own person at the same time; while Robredo continues her late husband, Sec. Jesse Robredo’s, brand of good governance as a newly minted legislator.

Joining Poe and Robredo as PeopleAsia’s “Women of Style and Substance” for 2013 are GMA Films president Annette Gozon-Abrogar, model and PR head for Unilever’s personal care Apples Aberin, FILA president and CEO Cris Albert, restaurateur and hotelier Sheila Romero, Cebu-based fashion designer Vania Romoff, SM Men’s Fashion assistant vice-president for marketing Ayen Florendo, award-winning equestrienne and youth advocate Michelle Cojuangco Barrera, and Invisible Sisters head, former Capt. Aimee Carandang-Gloria (the first female pilot in Asia). Also part of this year’s list are actresses and celebrity endorsers Heart Evangelista and Sam Pinto.

 To be hosted by celebrity hunk Markki Stroem, this year’s “Women of Style and Substance” will also herald a much-awaited fashion show that will sparkle with Miladay Jewels’ latest collection. The jewelry will be paired by couture creations of top designers such as “Women of Style and Substance” awardee Vania Romoff, Maureen Disini, Pablo Cabahug and Grace Ong.

Guests are also invited to come dressed as their favorite style icons. An esteemed panel of judges will then name the most “iconic” guest, who in turn, will go home with jewelry from Miladay.
