MANILA, Philippines - Classes in some schools in Metro Manila and nearby areas are still suspended today due to flooding and continuous heavy rains brought about by the southwest monsoon enhanced by Tropical Storm Maring.
The schools that suspended classes today (all levels) include Far Eastern University (all campuses); Polytechnic University of the Philippines (Sta. Rosa, Laguna campus); Colegio San Agustin (Biñan, Laguna); Perpetual Help College of Manila; University of Perpetual Help (Biñan, Laguna); Saint Francis of Assisi College (all campuses); Letran (Bataan campus) and San Pedro College of Business Administration.
Among local government units (LGUs) that suspended classes today in all levels (both private and public) are the cities of Manila, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Cavite and Pateros, and Sta. Rosa, San Pedro, Bian and Calamba, all in Laguna.
Mandaluyong suspended classes today in elementary and high school levels.
In Pasay City, classes in pre-school to high school (public and private) were also suspended today.
The provincial government of Pangasinan suspended today’s classes in all levels (both public and private) in Dagupan City and Bataan.
The University of Santo Tomas-College of Engineering suspended classes today only due to scheduled faculty retreat as per UST’s Central Student Council order.
