Comelec starts bidding for poll supplies
MANILA, Philippines - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has started the bidding process for the procurement of more than P264 million worth of election paraphernalia and supplies needed for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) polls.
In four Invitations to Bid, the Comelec’s Bid and Awards Committee (BAC) has urged interested parties to join the bidding that will end next month.
A bidding notice showed that some P184.60 million had been allocated for the procurement of carbonless paper, indelible ink, plastic security seal for ballot boxes, ballpens, padlocks with keys, thumbprint taker, forms and various printer toners and ribbons.
The approved budget for the contract of election supplies such as rubber bands, long bond paper, carbon paper, ballot secrecy folders, packaging tape, plastic straw, plastic acetate, puncher, scissors, stapler, cutter blade, cutter and Comelec cargo sticker is P15.35 million.
The Comelec will also purchase election forms worth P46.78 million to be used as posters indicating precinct number, tally sheets, minutes of voting and counting of votes, paper seals and certificates of votes.
The poll body was given P16.8 million for the purchase of envelopes for voting and counting.
