Elfren Cruz writes for The STAR

MANILA, Philippines - Elfren Sicangco Cruz joins The Philippine STAR as a regular op-ed columnist with his new column, Breakthrough, which will appear on Thursdays and Sundays. Cruz has been writing a weekly column, Framework, for the BusinessWorld since 1999. The column has been awarded a Catholic Mass Media Award and his book, Setting Frameworks, won the National Book Award for best business book from the Manila Critics Circle. He was a member of the Cory Aquino cabinet as head of the Presidential Management Staff and was governor of the Metro Manila Commission. He is currently a consultant on family business and strategic planning and a professor of strategic management at the De La Salle University Ramon V. del Rosario School of Business, a position he has held since 1992. He received two bachelor’s degrees and a Doctorate in Business Administration from De La Salle. He also holds an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management.
