BALANGA CITY, Philippines –Senate aspirant Juan Edgardo “Sonny†Angara encouraged investors yesterday to put up tourism-oriented industries in Bataan and produce Filipino brands in the province’s free port complex in Mariveles.
Angara said nobody would be surprised if the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) gets P1 billion or more in fresh investments this year since the first economic zone in the country got P637.7 million in investments in 2012.
“The P637.7 million in fresh investment at FAB last year represented a dramatic turnaround for the fast growing ecozone in Central Luzon,†he said.
Angara lauded Gov. Enrique Garcia and his son Rep. Albert Garcia for their contributions to the economic upsurge and job generation.
He said the FAB would soon attract more investments, from shipbuilding and repair to business outsourcing.
