Other UNA bets seek support of White Vote Movement

CALASIAO, Pangasinan , Philippines– Senatorial candidates belonging to the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) are seeking the endorsement of the White Vote Movement, believing that Catholic groups will be an influential force in the May elections.           

The White Vote Movement, composed of more than 40 Catholic lay organizations, has endorsed the candidacies of Zambales Rep. Mitos Magsaysay, San Juan Rep. JV Ejercito and Sen. Gringo Honasan of UNA, and Sen. Koko Pimentel, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV and former Las Piñas Rep. Cynthia Villar of Team PNoy.        

The movement is expected to endorse more candidates and UNA bets opposed to the Reproductive Health (RH) Law hope to get their backing.   

Former senator Ernesto Maceda, who is running under UNA, has talked to El Shaddai leader Mike Velarde, the spokesman of the White Vote Movement, to ask for his support. – Alexis Romero, Evelyn Macairan
