Rains expected in Mindanao
MANILA, Philippines - Rains are expected in some parts of Mindanao when a low-pressure area enters the Philippine area of responsibility tonight.
Administrator Nathaniel Servando of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the low-pressure area was forecast to bring cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rainshowers over the regions of Caraga, Davao and Soccsksargen until tomorrow.
However, the weather disturbance has a slim chance of developing into a tropical storm, he added.
Servando said the weather system will not affect the salvaging of the USS Guardian in Tubbataha Reef in Palawan.
Partly cloudy skies with brief rains will prevail over Palawan in the next three days, he added.
Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will have cloudy skies with light rains, PAGASA said.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over the whole country and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough, PAGASA said.
