MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Education (DepEd) has set the National Achievement Test (NAT) for elementary and high school students in March.
Education Secretary Armin Luistro said the NAT for fourth year high school students and Grade 3 pupils is on March 12 and Grade 4 students on March 13.
DepEd administers the NAT to assess the level of competency of students in key elementary and high school subjects.
Luistro said only students in private elementary and secondary schools with permit to operate from DepEd can take the test.
Grade 4 examinees will be given certificates of rating per subject that will determine their readiness for secondary education.
The National Education and Testing Research Center will hold a national conference on the standardized administration of the NAT, Test of English Proficiency for Teachers and the Process Skills Test in preparation for the tests.
“Our goal here is to update information and resolve issues and concerns in the conduct of tests,†said Luistro.
To be discussed in the national conference are the proper conduct of tests, standard procedure in test administration, security of test materials, allocation, delivery and retrieval, information derived from the individual, utilization, dissemination of findings and implication of test results as well as financial matters related to test administration.
