PLDT wins top awards at Asia Pacific telecoms conference

MANILA, Philippines - Telecoms leader PLDT last week bagged two of the four major awards at the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) APAC Carrier Ethernet Summit in Shanghai, China.
Represented by PLDT ALPHA Enterprise, PLDT received the Carrier Ethernet Service Provider of the Year for Asia Pacific and Carrier Ethernet Best in Marketing for Asia Pacific awards. PLDT was also one of the six finalists for the Carrier Ethernet Business Applications award.

Carrier Ethernet is an emerging global standard for secure, scaleable, high bandwidth Internet and LAN connectivity using Ethernet technology. It is used to support the growing bandwidth needs of large enterprises like banks, outsourcing companies and multinationals.

The MEF Carrier Ethernet Service Provider Awards recognizes excellence and leadership in the development, marketing and delivery of Carrier Ethernet Services in key regions around the world. Considered the defining body for Carrier Ethernet, the MEF is a global industry alliance comprised of more than 200 organizations including the world’s top service providers, dedicated to accelerating worldwide adoption of Carrier-class Ethernet networks and services.
