Other recipients of Legion of Honor award
MANILA, Philippines - The ranks of the Legion of Honor award were expanded to six in 2003 with chief commander as the highest and legionnaire as the basic rank.
The following were its recipients:
Chief commander: US President Franklin Roosevelt , Emperor Akihito of Japan, Gen. Douglas Mac-Arthur, former Supreme Court Chief Justice Claudio Teehankee, former Presidents Fidel Ramos and Sergio Osmeña, Manila Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin, US senator Daniel Inouye, former senator Lorenzo Tañada, publisher Joaquin “Chino” Roces, businessman Jesus Ayala, former Armed Forces chief of staff Eduardo Oban Jr., and Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo.
Grand commander: Jaime Zobel de Ayala, Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, and Fernando Zobel de Ayala.
Grand officer: no recipient to date.
Commander: Eulogio Bajo, Carlos Romulo, Alfredo Santos, Cardozo Luna, Benigno Aquino Jr., Sotero Cabahug, Jorge Vargas and Juan Ponce Enrile.
