LRT, MRT operations to resume Monday
MANILA, Philippines - The Light Rail Transit (LRT) Authority suspended the operations at LRT Lines 1 and 2 starting 8 p.m. yesterday until April 24, Easter Sunday in observance of the Lenten season.
The LRTA will use the days of suspended operations to conduct maintenance checks and repairs on rail tracks, rolling stock, and other equipment.
LRTA administrator Rafael Rodriguez said normal operations of the two train systems will resume on April 25, Monday at 5 a.m.
Line 1 runs from Baclaran station in Pasay City to Roosevelt station in Muñoz while Line 2 stretches from Recto in Manila to Santolan in Pasig City.
The operation of the EDSA-bound Metro Rail Transit (MRT), on the other hand, will be suspended starting today until Sunday because of maintenance operations.
