Birth, death number combinations win lotto pot

MANILA, Philippines - Number combinations based on birth and death anniversaries of family members have proven lucky for many lotto bettors.

Manny Garcia, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) publicity and advertising office chief, said several lotto jackpot winners this month have consistently bet on number combinations of death and birth anniversaries of relatives.

Among the winners was a 36-year-old STL (small town lottery) bet collector who shared the P4.9-million jackpot of the 6/45 Mega Lotto draw last Jan. 7.

Other winners that also relied on birth dates to pick the winning combination included a 61-year-old building administrator from Antipolo City, a 47-year-old housewife from Bulacan, and a 56-year-old man from Pangasinan.

One bettor maintained his number combination for the past 10 years before hitting the jackpot.

A 29-year-old student from Surigao City who maintained his number for six years shared the jackpot of P4.8 million in the Jan. 20 draw with two other winners from Cebu.

Last Jan. 24, a 34-year-old jobless man from Caloocan hit the P12-million jackpot of the 6/45 Mega Lotto draw with a number combination based on the birth dates of family members that he had been using for three years.
