Shalani denies romance with mayor
MANILA, Philippines - Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad denied having romantic links other than with President Aquino.
After skipping sessions at the city council for almost a month, Soledad made the statement in a television interview but declined to comment on the reported breakup with Mr. Aquino.
“Sa amin na lang iyon (That’s between us),” she told GMA-7 during a chance interview while voting at her polling precinct during last Monday’s barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
Soledad said her family was greatly affected by rumors of her breakup with the President and being linked to bachelor Valenzuela Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian.
“All the reports have no basis,” Soledad said. Gatchalian, through his spokesperson Anna Mejia has also denied any romantic links with Soledad.
Soledad, on the other hand, sought permission from the city council for a vacation abroad.
Voted one of the prettiest politicians, Soledad said she needs the much-needed rest after reports of her breakup with Mr. Aquino and of her alleged new romance. – Perseus Echeminada
