Boncodin laid to rest

MANILA, Philippines - Former budget secretary Emilia Boncodin was laid to rest yesterday at the Heritage Park in Taguig City.

Around 300 relatives and friends of Boncodin attended her burial at 9 a.m.

Boncodin was among the so-called “Hyatt 10,” a group of cabinet members who withdraw their support for President Arroyo in 2005, amid charges that she cheated in the 2004 presidential elections discovered through the “Hello, Garci” tape scandal.

She died of kidney ailment last March 15 at age 55. – Jose Rodel Clapano
