3 new PAF generals named

MANILA, Philippines - Two key Air Force officials and a personnel management officer based in Camp Aguinaldo have been promoted as generals of the Philippine Air Force (PAF).

In a statement, PAF spokesman Gerardo Zamudio Jr. identified the three new generals as Maj. Gen. Jesus Fajardo, Brig. Gen. Nestor Deona, and Brig. Gen. Victorio Quinia. He said the three were officially conferred their ranks last Feb. 5.

Prior to his promotion, Fajardo was named chief of air staff at the PAF Headquarters. He is a member of Philippine Military Academy Class of 1978 and has trained in anti-terrorist attack management, conflict management and the principles of war.

Fajardo was also commander of the 710th Special Operations Wing and a lecturer in the areas of command and control, rules of engagement policy directives and operational guidelines and peacekeeping operations.

Deona, a member of PMA class 1980, is the commander of the Air Defense Wing. He holds a Master in Business Management degree from the Asian Institute of Management in Makati and had international air operations training in the US and Australia.

Quinia, meanwhile, is chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines - Pension and Gratuity Management Center based in Camp Aguinaldo. He is a graduate of the PAF Flying school in Lipa, Batangas and has a master’s degree in public administration.

Quinia also had training in the fields of international humanitarian law, manpower management, combat crew training, faculty development, joint warfare course and pre-area command post.

“The promotion of Fajardo, Deona and Quinia is expected to strengthen the organization… The three command a high level of respect within and even beyond the Philippine Air Force,” Zamudio said.
