3 killed in GenSan blast
KORONADAL CITY – Three people were killed and scores injured in an explosion in front of a canning firm in General Santos City last night, police said.
Central Mindanao police director Chief Superintendent Felizardo Serapio said the explosion occurred at around 6:40 p.m. near the gate of Philbest Canning Corp. in Barangay Tambler.
Tambler is abouot eight kilometers away from downtown General Santos.
Serapio said the injured were brought to different hospitals in the city. He said the explosion happened in the evening as the employees were preparing to change shifts and many were milling about the compound.
The police could not say what type of explosive was used in the bombing or the possible motive of the attackers. – Ramil Bajo, John Unson, AP
