11 entrepreneurs awarded by ‘cabalen’ Gloria
SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – President Arroyo handed out awards for entrepreneurship to 11 of her provincemates yesterday.
The awarding highlighted the day-long Go Negosyo sa Pampanga, initiated by the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE).
The awardees were Dr. Emmanuel Angeles of the Angeles University Foundation, Ryan Razon of Razon’s Restaurant, Jose Bituin of Betis Crafts, Jaime Uy of Saver’s Mall, the Garcia family of Mekeni Food Products, Lolita Hizon of Pampanga’s Best, Michael Escaler of Pampanga Sugar Development Corp., Willy Taun of Hausland Real Estate, Peter Nepomuceno of the Nepo Group of Companies, Teresa Carlos-David of Bank of Florida, and Fatima de Rosario of Sasmuan Delicacies.
Presidential consultant for entrepreneurship and PCE founding trustee Jose Concepcion III and Presidential Management Staff chief Secretary Cerge Remonde assisted Mrs. Arroyo in the awarding at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.
Pampanga officials led by Gov. Ed Panlilio, Rep. Mikey Arroyo and members of the Pampanga Mayor’s League (PML) headed by Lubao Mayor Dennis Pineda attended the ceremonies.
The awardees were cited for helping “develop Pampanga as a new frontier for progress.”
PCE organizers said the awarding was part of an ongoing campaign to promote entrepreneurship “aimed at offering the public with business opportunities through exhibits and discussions to be led by some of the country’s well-respected entrepreneurs.”
“It is part of PCE’s latest endeavor, the Go Negosyo Caravan, which seeks to bring Go Negosyo’s entrepreneural revolution to key cities outside Metro Manila,” PCE said.
Ronald Pineda of Folded and Hung, Les Ryes of Reyes Haircutters and Dr. Rolando Hortaleza of Splash Corp. also conducted lectures on effective entrepreneurship.
Concepcion said PCE’s latest activities “focus on promoting entrepreneurship among the people of Pampanga to serve as a beacon of hope despite the economic challenges of the time.”
“PCE wants to fire up the imagination of Filipinos to develop a positive and entrepreneurial mindset through their lecture series and exhibits. The response we are getting for our programs is truly overwhelming,” he said.
The Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry have endorsed Go Negosyo sa Pampanga.
