A lawyer of former President Joseph Estrada has asked the Sandiganbayan’s Special Division to allow the detained leader to visit his mother, Doña Mary Ejercito, on her 103rd birthday on May 2 at his North Greenhills, San Juan residence.
Estrada’s lead counsel Rene Saguisag asked the anti-graft court to expedite the issuance of this order by tomorrow.
Saguisag also urged the Sandiganbayan to allow Estrada to complete his cardiac evaluation examinations as advised by his personal physician, Dr. Lorenzo Hocson.
Hocson said the check-up and medical tests would take three days to complete.
In an urgent motion, Saguisag said Estrada does not want to miss the chance to spend time with his ailing mother.
Estrada recently celebrated his 70th birthday at his home in San Juan.
