DOH approval rating goes up in SWS poll

-
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III yesterday commended the better performance of the employees of the Department of Health for the increase in the agency’s approval rating among the public after the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey last June.

Duque said that based on the SWS survey, the DOH garnered a +44 net approval rating from the 1,200 people surveyed nationwide, which was an increase from the +42 rating the agency got in December 2005.

Local Church leaders topped the survey with +71 rating, followed by the DOH, the Supreme Court with +40, and the Social Security System with +38.

The health department was favored by the respondents because of the improving health services that were provided to the public in government medical facilities and the agency’s crusade against graft and corruption.

Duque gave the credit to rank and file employees who have "quietly and without complaining about their work, come rain or shine, but always carefully attending to the sick in times of emergency or at any time." — Sheila Crisostomo
