Amid crisis, use gas-saving device

As Malacañang admitted that skyrocketing fuel prices may result in national security threats, the Filipino inventor of a gas-saving device now offers private motorists and owners of public utility vehicles the chance to buy one for each of their units under an "easy loan program."
Local inventor Pablo Planas said the government and the public may respond to the sudden spike in world oil prices by using his indigenous energy-saving gadget.
"The government and the public should unite in addressing the continuing increase in the prices of oil products," Planas said. "The gas-saving device which I invented will be of great help to Filipino motorists as a solution to oil price increases."
Planas invented the Khaos Super Turbo Charger in 1973, which has been proven to cut fuel consumption in gas and diesel vehicles by 15 to 50 percent.
The device is now being used by government officials including Vice President Noli de Castro and Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Michael Defensor, who have been advocating its use by the public.
"A climate of uncertainty, and even panic, envelops the government and the public with the continuing increase in oil prices in the world market," Isko Catibayan of the Khaos Inventionhaus said.
