Suspected members of a kidnap gang operating in the Philippines damaged company property when they attacked a US-owned agricultural plantation in Mindanao, the military said yesterday.
Local authorities detained four people in connection with Thursdays grenade attack on the Dole Philippines Inc. property in the pineapple plantation town of Polomolok, South Cotabato, a military report here said.
The blast damaged a water main but there were no casualties.
Military officials said the Pentagon, a gang of ex-Muslim separatist guerrillas included on Washingtons blacklist of foreign terrorist organizations, is suspected of involvement.
In January, two Pentagon members were killed in a foiled attack on the plantation home of Dole Philippines regional director Christopher Hubbard.
