NBI can’t pin Dacer suspects

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents are finding it hard to pin down the mastermind in the kidnapping of public relations man Salvador "Bubby" Dacer and his driver.

Lawyer Samuel Ong, NBI National Capital Region chief, told The STAR yesterday that "unless someone would squeal," it would be difficult for his agents to gather enough evidence against the mastermind.

However, Ong said more officials and men of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force (PAOCTF) will be charged before the Department of Justice in connection with the Dacer case.

"Although we have filed charges against (Police Officer 4 Marino) Soberano, (it) does not mean that we are finished," he said. "We will charge others as soon as we complete our evidence."

Ong said the NBI will also charge Inspector Wilson Perdido, a member of PAOCTF-Luzon, for allegedly removing the name of Soberano in the list of PAOCTF men who had raided a house near Dacer’s home in Sun Valley Subdivision in Parañaque City days before the public relations practitioner was snatched.
