Pulp, the # 1 music magazine in the Philippines with over 20,000 copies in monthly circulation, recently partnered with philstar.com to be a major music content provider for its newly revamped youth section, YS Online.
The partnership, which was forged last Nov. 29, brings together two dynamic industry leaders – philstar.com with its growing prominence as the leading portal for the Filipino Global Community and Pulp Magazine with its hard-core content and cult-like following. Under the agreement, Pulp will populate the YS Online music page with music news and gossip, feature articles, artist interviews, music reviews and album recommendations – straight from the pages of the wild and infamous magazine, itself. Aside from all that, Pulp will further energize the YS Online music page with its biting photos and eccentric images. This way, YS Online users will have access to the same independent and nonconformist style that Pulp Magazine is so widely known for.
Pulp editor-in-chief Vernon Go, raves, "Pulp really has the richest and most appealing music content in town. Having our feature articles and reviews on YS Online will keep users updated on the latest goings-on in music and entertainment." philstar.com COO Rally Martinez adds, "Pulp has, by far, the leading edge in the music infotainment business. Our YS Online section caters to the sharp, intelligent and outspoken young adults of the Filipino Global Community. Being able to provide them with up-to-date news on music, fashion, celebrities, pop culture, global issues and intimate concerns is critical. They have to be able to chew on something new and fresh each day with which to charge their fast-paced lifestyles. The partnership with Pulp will definitely be a great support in developing our following of young adults and developing these young adults, themselves."
It is for these same reasons that philstar.com president Kevin Belmonte enthuses, "I’m very excited about this new development in our efforts to build philstar.com. We now rank # 37 among the top 100 news sites all over the world. However, we intend to become more than a news site; our aim is to become the leading portal for the Filipino Global Community. To achieve this, we cannot afford to partner with anyone less than the best. That’s why we’ve forged this partnership with Pulp, the #1 music magazine in the Philippines."
Other #1’s which philstar.com has partnered with since it re-launched last August 15 are RFM Corporation, PLDT, Viva, BidShot Auctions, Jobstreet, eYellowPages, DFNN, People Asia, NBC, Teen Philippines, Odyssey Records and Localvibe.
The partnership with philstar.com further strengthens Pulp’s presence on the World Wide Web. Aside from its presence on YS Online, Pulp also has its own music website, which is accessible through www.pulpmagazine.com.ph. To date, the monthly magazine has already released 10 issues since it first launched last December 1999. This December 15, Pulp will celebrate its 1st year anniversary with a party and concert at the NBC Mega Tent, The Fort at 7pm. Everyone is invited! Insert invitations are available inside the Pulp anniversary issue. So be sure to go out and get your own copy of Pulp Magazine before then!
