Tarlac trader's daughter rescued
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Policemen rescued a kidnapped 17-year-old daughter of a Tarlac businessman during the supposed payoff in front of the Hacienda Luisita Mall in Tarlac City last Saturday.
Senior Superintendent Maximo Calimlim, Tarlac police director, said the victim, Dianne Luzuriaga, who spent four days in captivity, is now with her family in Camiling, Tarlac.
Calimlim, in a report to Chief Superintendent Roberto Calinisan, Central Luzon police director, said a 17-year-old girl who admitted having been tapped by Luzuriaga's kidnappers to pick up the ransom money, was arrested.
The girl tagged a former Army sergeant, Romeo Mabatac, as the mastermind of the abduction, and his cohorts as a certain Cedeng Espejo and Aurelio Villoria.
Calimlim said Mabatac reportedly belongs to the "Adalem" kidnap-for-ransom group, composed of former military men which operates in Central Luzon and Metro Manila.
Luzuriaga's abductors initially demanded a P1-million ransom but later reduced the amount to P100,000.
