More allocation for CDC sought

- Ding Cervantes -

CLARK FIELD, Pampanga -- Mayors forming an advisory body for the Clark Development Corp. (CDC) has appealed to President Estrada to increase the state-run firm's allocation to at least P200 million this year for vital projects in communities near the Clark Special Economic Zone (CSEZ).

In a resolution, the Metro Clark Advisory Council (MCAC) noted that the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) slashed the CDC's capital expenditures from P200 million last year to only P50 million this year.

The council said this year's "meager" capital expenditures will "cripple the CDC from pursuing its off-site infrastructure projects which were meant to benefit the member-localities of the MCAC."
