8 PNP officials get promotion
The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced yesterday the promotion of three police generals and five colonels to the next rank.
Now holding the rank of deputy director general (equivalent to lieutenant general) are Reynaldo Wycoco, PNP deputy chief for administration; Jewel Canson, deputy chief for operations; and Romeo Peña, chief of the directorial staff.
Under the PNP Law, the three positions should be occupied by a deputy director general. The deputy chiefs for administration and operations are the second and third highest posts, respectively, in the PNP hierarchy.
The directorial staff's chief, the fourth highest PNP official, has administrative supervision over 10 directorates or police offices.
The five police colonels (senior superintendents) promoted to chief superintendent are the following:
* Jose Dalumpines, director of the elite Special Action Force;
* Reynor Gonzales, director of the Anti-Narcotics Group;
* Ruperlito Andanar, director of the PNP Finance Service;
