10 injured in Pasay LPG tank blast
Ten people were injured, some seriously, when a leaking liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank exploded Sunday night in a restaurant in Pasay City.
Case officer PO2 Alberto Sombilon identified the victims as Alfredo Nenero, 30, waiter, of Parañaque City; Hermie Cagas, 30, kitchen helper of Quezon Boulevard, Manila; Hope Torres, 34, supervisor, of Bagong Silang, Cavite; Armando Magallanes, 22, of Maricaban, Pasay City; Ronnie Ramos, 22, of Baclaran, Parañaque City; Dominador Yara, 24, of Sun Valley, Pasay City, all kitchen personnel; Marichu Guadalupe, 28, cashier, of Tambo, Parañaque City; Salvacion Quirano, 20, food checker, of Sto. Niño, Parañaque City; Clifford Guambot, 23, waiter, of Maricaban, Pasay City; and Joseph Preciado, 35, tourist guide, of MIA, Pasay City.
The victims suffered second and third degree burns except for Preciado who sustained injuries from splinters of the kitchen's glass walls shattered by the blast.
Reports said that at about 11:30 p.m. the LPG tank exploded in the kitchen of the 24-hour Ho Tsin Ho restaurant on EDSA extension. Aside from Preciado, who was a customer, all the victims are employees of the restaurant. They were taken to the San Juan de Dios Hospital.
