Nineteen police officers from the Cordillera Region were promoted to the next higher rank earlier this year.
At the same time, nine policemen were dismissed, two were demoted and another forcibly resigned and 22 others were suspended for various offenses the past year.
Chief Superintendent Crescencio Maralit, regional director of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera Administrative Region, said those promoted included seven police inspectors, eight senior inspectors and four chief inspectors.
Newly promoted inspectors were SPO4s Angel Poking, Amador Orcino, Wilson Ingson, Agnes Millares, Pablo Baliwag, Pablo Fegcan and Nestor Miranda.
Promoted senior inspectors were Inspectors Adolfo Rafanan, Melvin Napiloy, Ronald Hipolito, Candelario Detruz, Ramirez Canam, Kuhutan Imlani Jr., Rodelio Samson and Rowell Velasco.
Named new chief inspectors were Senior Inspector Florante Camuyot, Eliseo Tanding, Salonga Abbugao and Benjamin Vinluan. Their promotion took effect December 31, 1999.
Meanwhile, Maralit announced that nine policemen were dismissed from the service last year. They were Senior Inspector Francisco Bentayen Jr. SPO1 Dominador Molina, SPO2 Mario Otanes, PO3 Licerio Defensor, PO3 Joel Toyokan, PO1 Nelson Balles, PO3 Reymar Ayonayon, SPO4 Carlos Lagayan and PO1 Danilo Manginga.
Forcibly resigned was PO1 Ivan Roldan while SPO2 Joseph Mangawit and PO3 Virgilio Pate were demoted one rank lower.
Maralit said their offenses ranged from murder, grave misconduct, serious neglect of duty, dishonesty, immorality and irregularity in the performance of duty.
Maralit also directed the Regional Internal Affairs Office to facilitate the resolution of pending cases to comply with the directive of Deputy Director General Panfilo M. Lacson, PNP Chief, to weed out misfits and scalawags in the police service.
