National budget for 2024

Plenary deliberations for the proposed 2024 budget of the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education has been moved from Tuesday to Wednesday — the last day of session before the House goes on break.

The Senate Committee on Finance approves during its budget hearing on Wednesday, September 20, the proposed P7 billion budget of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) and the National Amnesty Commission (NAC).
Presidential Peace Adviser Secretary Carlito G. Galvez Jr., presents the agency’s budget proposal along with OPAPRU Senior Undersecretary Isidro Purisima and Presidential Assistants Wilben Mayor and Arnulfo Pajarillo.
Galvez says it is "high time for the government to invest more resources in peacebuilding, as the country is now heading towards the era of post-conflict reconstruction, rehabilitation and transition."
A Senate panel is conducting a public hearing into the proposed 2024 National Expenditure Program of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

The House Committee on Appropriations, chaired by Rep. Elizaldy Co (AKO BICOL Party-list) resumes the scrutiny of the proposed P5.768 trillion 2024 national budget.
On Monday, the House panel deliberations on the spending plan for Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
Co is joined by Stella Luz Quimbo (Marikina, 2nd district) and Rep. Raul Angelo “Jil” Bongalon (AKO BICOL Party-list), who are the Senior Vice Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Committee on Appropriations, respectively, and Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan in the budget hearing.
PAGCOR chair and Chief Executive Officer Alejandro Tengco says the agency aims to increase contribution to the national government.
