MANILA, Philippines- Reggae fans experienced a different kind of magic as the Canadian fusion reggae band Magic! had a one-night show here in Manila.

On Wednesday, lead vocalist Nasri, bassist Ben Spivak, guitarist Mark Pellizzer, and drummer Alex Tanas were warmly welcomed by their Filipino fans as they performed their hits non-stop for two hours.

The band opened the show with the song “Stupid Me,” as Nasri invited everyone to get on their feet and dance with the beat. This was followed by their two other songs “Mama Didn’t Raise No Fool” and “No Evil.”

“Thank you for having us tonight!” Nasri said which made the crowd cheer. “This next song is very special because this is the next single here. It’s called Let Your Hair Down.”

After performing their newest single, Nasri exclaimed, “I love you too! You’re very loving, you’re so loving!”

He then shared why Filipinos somehow became close to his heart.

“We actually grew up in Toronto Canada, so we grew up with a lot of things like good reggae music. We had a lot of Filipino friends,” he related.

“Actually when I was in high school I was in a band with three Filipino guys. We were called Evolution, we were the greatest band ever but we didn’t make it. It’s tough, it’s tough.”

The group then played another upbeat song, “No Way No.”

For their next performance, Nasri dedicated the song to “girls, sexy beautiful girls, they just want some good old fashioned fun. Ladies you want to have some fun? You wanna dance?”

So as he sings the song “Girls Wanna Have Fun,” Nasri did a few sexy dance steps which made every girl in the venue cheer.

Immediately, the music fades out and the intro music for their song “Don’t Kill the Magic” fades in that made everyone excited.

“So we’re now on our last song, hope you enjoy this,” said Nasri, and the band performed their hit single “’Rude.”

They ended the night by saying “Thank you, Manila! Hope you had a good time!”
