Ebe Dancel, 'Bawat Daan' feat. the cast of 'Wakas'

MANILA, Philippines - What if that space beside her isn’t where you’re supposed to be at all? What if you’re the only one thinking you should be in that spot but the other person’s still hung up on someone? Now, what if she thought you could take the place of her ex but she realized that you can’t, so she pushes you away to go after what she wants regardless if you get hurt?

Screw what ifs. It’s easy to tell others to move on but if you’re the one in the quicksand of emotions, how the **** exactly do you move on(?!)

How can you tell if what you’re in for is worth everything? Some may be bold enough to walk away, but the best of us aren’t that good at figuring things out.

Singer-songwriter Ebe Dancel wrote a new song exclusively for Sa Wakas: The Musical entitled “Bawat Daan” and if you’re the person that got left behind, the lyrics will probably leave you feeling like a thousand arrows burrowed into your entire body.

At maligaw man at mawala
Umikot man sa kawalan
Sa bawat kailan, sino’t saan
Ikaw lamang ang kasagutan

Bawat kanan at kaliwa
Kanluran man o hilaga
Ang bawat daan ko ay patungo
Pabalik sa ‘yo

At a recent press conference, he said that “Bawat Daan” talks about “moving on and embracing one’s past.” If you hear your ex say this to the one she’s holding out for, how’s that going to make you feel?

Dancel’s songs have always been lyrically powerful, especially to the more melodramatic audience. His lyrics are too real and too personal, that everyone who has loved or experienced the nonreciprocal side of it feels like it’s a melodic retelling of their story.

Sa Wakas is a ‘bittersweet love story that chronicles the end of one relationship and the beginning of another. The show also raises the timeless question of why relationships fall apart.’ Featuring the songs of Sugarfree, the musical will have a limited run at the PETA-PHINMA Theater from April 13 to 28. If you’ve just had your heart broken or just gotten into a relationship, I suggest you get your tissue boxes ready.
