LTP, Emirates extend partnership

MANILA, Philippines —  Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP) will welcome Emirates as the launch customer for its new facility at Clark International Airport as part of their extended agreement for the base maintenance of the airline’s Airbus A380 fleet.

LTP will continue to perform heavy checks on Emirates’ A380 aircraft through 2030 under a new multi-year contract.

The program is already underway at LTP’s existing maintenance facility in Manila, where two dedicated base maintenance lines have been assigned to Emirates.

The airline will also become the launch customer for LTP’s new facility at Clark International Airport, once operations commence.

“We are delighted to extend the strong cooperation we have built with Emirates over the years, and proud to welcome the airline as our launch customer for our new, second facility in Clark, Pampanga,” LTP president and CEO Holger Beck said.

As the world’s largest operator of the Airbus A380, Emirates has relied on Lufthansa Technik’s extensive expertise in heavy maintenance for its flagship double-deck aircraft since 2023.

LTP has completed more than 30 A380 checks for the airline to date.

“Operating two parallel base maintenance lines dedicated to Emirates’ A380 fleet demonstrates our capability to support complex widebody aircraft. This contract is a clear reflection of continued trust in our proven track record of high-quality and reliable MRO services,” Beck said.

LTP serves as Lufthansa Technik’s competence center for widebody base maintenance in Asia.

It specializes in services for Airbus A330, A340 and A380 as well as Boeing 777 aircraft and intends to add the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 to its portfolio.
