Alex-Venus reunion gig up
MANILA, Philippines — And they join forces again.
Filipina rising star Alex Eala will team up with American great Venus Williams once more at next week’s Mubadala DC Open in Washington.
The “dream team” – as how the Mubadala DC Open described the pairing – will give Eala another great opportunity to share the court with and pick up valuable lessons from the multi-titled Williams in the WTA 500 tourney set for July 27 to Aug. 2.
The Pinay tennis darling and Williams previously partnered at the Bad Homburg grasscourt tourney in Germany last month.
Eala, 21, and Williams, 46, reached the Last 8, ending their campaign with a 6-3, 6-2 defeat to No. 2 Olivia Nicholls of Great Britain and Tereza Mihalikova of Slovakia.
This time, they hope to run deeper on the hardcourt.
