Cebu Landmasters 2003, ARQ 2001 arrange title showdown in Division A

CEBU, Philippines — The undefeated Cebu Landmasters Batch 2003 and the ARQ Batch 2001 swept past their semifinal foes to set up a championship showdown in Division A of the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Season 29 at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles Arena in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.

Raymond Dennis Tan bagged 16 points with seven rebounds, three assists and a steal while Daryle Tan chalked up a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds with one assist and three steals as Batch 2003 finished off the Big Three Pizza Batch 1996 with a decisive 66-52 Game 2 victory.

Justin Huang chipped in 11 markers, eight boards, four dimes and two steals for Batch 2003, which will square off against Batch 2001 in the best-of-three title series beginning Sunday, July 12.

Batch 2001 bolstered their bid to regain the crown they won in 2024 after knocking out Core Pacific, 73-59.

Carlo Villarica led Batch 2001 with 18 points, eight rebounds and one steal while Mark Hing contributed 15 points, five rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

Wendell Ong was the other double-digit scorer for Batch 2001 with 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Jason Arquisola also made his presence felt with nine points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals for the ARQ-backed squad.
