MANILA, Philippines — Fans were levitating on the dance floor!
British-Albanian pop star Dua Lipa’s fans danced the night away when she brought her “Radical Optimism Tour” to the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan on Wednesday.
Dua opened her comeback concert in the Philippines with the song, Training Season, clad in a sexy black outfit.
“Thank you so much. Thank you for your energy. Thank you for being so loud — all the time. This is so much fun,” she said during the concert.
“It’s been so long since last I’ve been here. It’s been six years. So to be welcomed so warmly means a lot. I just love the customs here and I feel like I had the best food,” she added.
A sea of lights appeared from the audience while the international pop star was performing Cold Heart. The crowd also went wild as they raved and danced to her songs Electricity, New Rules, Don’t Start Now and her megahit Levitating.
Ahead of her show, Dua and her boyfriend, British actor Callum Turner, were spotted taking a romantic stroll in Manila’s historic walled city, Intramuros, where they checked out such landmarks as the San Agustin Church and Fort Santiago.
They also had a Filipino gastronomic experience by dining at Toyo Eatery.
“Manila that was WILD!! That has to be one of the loudest crowds ever!!!!! Thank you for your energy! I’ve missed youuuuu,” she later posted on her social media pages.
Dua last performed in Manila in 2018 at the Mall of Asia Arena. She first gained popularity after releasing her critically and commercially successful debut album that carried the hit single New Rules. It reached No. 1 on the UK charts in 2017.
In 2020, she certified her hitmaker status with the album Future Nostalgia. The lead single Levitating stayed for a total of 77 it went on Billboard’s Hot 100, which reports said was the longest time a song by a woman had spent on the chart. It went to become Billboard’s No. 1 song of 2021.
