MANILA, Philippines — Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o confirmed she is single and no longer dating fellow actor Joshua Jackson.
Nyong'o said as much in an interview with Harper's Bazaar UK while talking about her cat Yoyo.

"My love for my cat is singular. If I'm ever so lucky to be in a romantic relationship again, it'll be because of him," Nyong'o said. "I was ready to shut that door and lock it and bolt it. He has ensured that my heart remains open."
Rumors about Nyong'o and Jackson no longer dating spread after the latter was spotted earlier this year with German model Nastassja Roberts.
The two actors were first seen together in October 2023 attending a Janelle Monáe concert in Los Angeles, the same month Nyong'o adopted Yoyo from the Best Friends Animal Society. They then confirmed their relationship later that year.

At the time Nyong'o adopted Yoyo she had just broken up with sports commentator Selema Masekela, while Jackson's wife, Jodie Turner-Smith, filed for divorce after four years of marriage.
Turner-Smith had given Nyong'o and Jackson her blessing last June, several months after the actors were seen together celebrating Nyong'o's 41st birthday in Mexico.
Nyong'o won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her feature film debut "12 Years a Slave." She is known for starring in "Us," "A Queit Place: Day One," "The Wild Robot," "The Jungle Book," "Little Monsters," and the "Star Wars" and "Black Panther" movies.
Jackson's breakout role was as Charlie Conway in the "Mighty Ducks" movies before going on to star in television shows like "Dawson's Creek," "Fringe," "The Affair," "Little Fires Everywhere," "Dr. Death," "Fatal Attraction," and currently "Doctor Odyssey."
