Guiao nakatulong sa Philippine sports
MANILA, Philippines — Malaking tulong ang nakuha ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) mula kay dating Pampanga Congressman at ngayon ay Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao.
Kinatigan kasi ng Supreme Court ang petisyon ni Guiao noong 2016 ukol sa dapat na pagbibigay ng (Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) at Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) ng bahagi ng kanilang kinikita sa PSC.
Kahapon ay ipinag-utos ng Supreme Court sa PAGCOR at PCSO na mag-remit sa sports agency ng nararapat nitong tanggaping pondo.
“The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation is ordered to account and remit the full amount of 5% of its gross income per annum, after deduction of its 5% franchise tax, from 1993 to present in favor of the Philippine Sports Commission,” ayon sa desisyon na isinulat ni Senior Associate Justice Marvic Leonen.
Dapat ding magbigay ang PCSO sa PSC ng 30% ng charity fund ng anim na sweepstakes o lottery draw per annum, kasama ang mga lotto draws mula noong 2006.
