MANILA, Philippines – It is passing our conscious attention that there is a four-way love angle going on in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
“Yes, for sure,” Marc Solis as SPO1 Rigor Soriano admitted with firmness about his true-to-life admiration for Maja Salvador as SPO1 Glenda “Glen” Corpuz. Marc pushes the reel courtship of SPO2 Jerome Girona Jr. (John Prats) to Glenn who, in turn, pursues a secret love for SPO1 Ricardo “Cardo” Dalisay (Coco Martin). But Rigor’s body language hints he desires Maja/Glenn, too.
“I find Maja really beautiful,” Marc, who plays a support role, owns up his infatuation for the lead actress. Now that Cardo is getting jealous of Jerome, it seems Marc/Rigor’s chance is getting slimmer.
For sure, there is a big difference between reel and real life, or for the matter, the hierarchy of needs among superstars, stars, actors and talents.
Marc is clueless what will happen to his character in Ang Probinsyano. He has had his big moments during the karaoke night when Glenn celebrated her birthday.
“We are all actually working on our characters as we go. ‘Yung ibang mga scenes impromptu. We just let our characters react to the situation,” Marc hints his character’s flow and heart’s beat.
In physical traits, the thirty-something and single Marc cuts a fit policeman at the same level of projection as Coco in the leading primetime series. In a recent guesting in Magandang Umaga with John Lloyd Cruz and Baron Geisler, Marc oozed the higher sex appeal.
With a waistline of 28 inches and a well-toned body with four-pack abs, he is proudest of his biceps that he considers as the sexiest part of his body.
“I really discipline myself with food intake and workout. I just keep doing it and I am happy with the results so I already made this my lifestyle,” he reveals.
“As for my training, I lift weights and run alone a lot. I also love the energy at fun-runs. I used to join 5k and 10k runs before. I’d like to go back to that,” Marc shares his exercise plan.
“And strict diet. I have not taken rice for more than five years now. Paminsan-minsan, yes, like special occasions or pag may kare-kare,” Marc describes his cheat day.
“Like Coco and John, Maja and I have bonded very closely on the set as well as the whole cast. We have established very good rapport on the set and it translates into the scenes we make,” Marc opens when asked if he is prepared to court Maya.
“For now, I am more focused though on my role and try to outdo myself each time. All of us are very good friends and I would not want to mix romance with work. Kung baga work mode muna,” he shares.
But Marc owns up: “I just came out of a relationship early this year so I am not in a rush to enter into one again anytime soon. But when love shall come my way, then I will not hesitate.”
Asked if he can make Maja fall in love with him, he imagines: “Maybe I have to work out more and find out. (Smiles honestly) But I’ll never know how I can be the one.”
How you would know to have found “the one,” I asked. Marc ponders and blurts smoothly, “Well, I guess I can ‘BE the ONE’ — Be THE ONE to someone.”
